Analysis:
First off, it was a sad day for zebras, candy canes and the american flag. Sorry, stripes.
Secondly, I must reiterate how much I enjoy the creativity I see in responses to seemingly pointless questions like this.
*Also, ten points on mention of gingham, which is up there among my favorite patterns/fabrics. For those of you who are unaware, gingham is the table cloth-like red checks meets plaid pattern. It's apparently also a fabric.
